Hi guys managed to bag one of my Suzuki dealers 5 allocated Jimnys today. I was in the right place last week to see it in the flesh. This week I got a call that dealer is ready to sell and got the first appointment of the day today and bought one there and then.

Got an SZ5 manual, silver, parking sensors, lux, mats and a plastic/metal wheel cover. Car is in Grimsby and should be with dealer in the next week for an early 2019 pick up.

Have been following the new Jimny over the last few months and felt it would be fun to get one. I want a runaround and do a lot of sports with the kids on pot holed and muddy sports grounds, tracks and lanes and felt the day to day ride - mini clubman cooper S was not up to the job and also never really jelled with the mini as a car.

If got the impression last week that the dealer would have approx 5 or 6 allocation for the first 6 months and thought I would be wasting my time. However the phone call with just perfect timing bagged me one !

Hope to get to know you and the car a bit more as time goes on. I am from north Kent. Names Paul.

I am lucky enough to have a ‘toy’ being a focus RS edition so the Jimny will be the regular ride with the focus being used on longer runs and some other occasions.

Cheers will put some piccys up once I get it

Thanks for reading

Welcome aboard and greetings from the Cotswold hills, Paul!

Sounds great, I'll bet you can't wait. I broke several front springs on my previous car (SAAB - a bit prone to that apparently) so like you felt I needed something more robust for the rubbish roads around my way.
That was a beautiful very comfortable, swish car with all the bells and whistles. but after a job change, I felt I could no longer justify a large diesel engine that was expensive to service and no longer doing the same mileage.
I needed a small, petrol engined 4x4 that was convertible (I got to have open-air motoring or I'll go mad), the only thing I could see was the Jimny.
My brother had one for years and it never missed a beat and he really gave it some abuse.
I love it; slow with odd handling on its rigid axles - but respect it and its huge fun to drive.

IF IT AINT BROKE, KEEP FIXING IT UNTIL IT IS

Car will be collected Saturday. Sadly no wrapped roof as dealers ‘wrapper’ couldn’t do the job for 10 days so I’ll live with it and see if I want to do it in the future.

Nice one. I just got my SZ4 in silver. See how you like the silver roof first. I like it how it is.
