New car tax is a lot worse than that for the new Jimny

First year for the manual is £830 and the Auto is £1240.... :S

£830 for the first year  then £140 a year

www.gov.uk/vehicle-tax-rate-tables

Pretty much anything worth sitting in will be in the £515 band at least. (They are not stupid over at HMRC)

Why bother quoting 0g/km for a fuel burning car, how could that ever be possible? (unless you soak up all the nasty CO2 in soda lime or something, in which case we could get anything into the zero rate for a few days....)

My teenie tiny Renault Nee-San is 168g/km and I thought it was fairly economical. Imagine where a full size 4x4 would be...

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

auchenblae wrote: If you look at the Suzuki Corporate site it appears that the engine is used in APV people carrier and it is a very old engine. It may not have VVT that the current Jimny 1.3 has.

I think it may well have a version of the pre 2000 Jimny engine.

That would give high emissions.

I'm sounding like a broken record but this car is basically for third world use and apart from some hardore users in Europe, most people will buy an Ignis or Swift 4WD car.

Everything I've read says that the K15B is newly developed.

Sadly, The more i see or read (from the interweb. It must be true if it's on there  ) about the new jimny is actually putting me off it.
If it had been released without all the blurb, I'd of gone straight out and bought one and kicked myself about it later. I think i'll wait for a couple of years and get a second hand, out of warranty model, That if it's had any problems will have already come to light and been sorted.
Then i also will not feel to bad about taking a plasma cutter to the wheel wells to get a set of 33s or 35s in there.

It's been fettled just a tad.

£515 for the first year for both the manual and auto models (154g/km and 170g/km respectively). The £830 figure is for 'dirty' diesels.

Seen this on facebook and also mentions that Suzuki have had more orders than they expected, and deliveries to the customers are already behind
