LPG is no more dangerous in an accident than petrol. The tank will not explode from an impact. The biggest risk is if it somehow came loose.

Oooh I like that.

However, I had a Rav4 years ago with an LPG tank in the back and it was big like that and a damn nuisance plus which generally I never did enough miles for it to switch to gas as the engine has to warm to a certain amount first. Fine on long commutes though..

That chap gets lots of Jimnys for sale - I nearly bought one off him.

Do it right - use Hammerite

Ok they are really tough and quite as safe as needed but even knowing that I would still not like the idea of one in the boot but that's probably because I am a bit paranoid.

Thanks to all for the replies. I have not been on for a while but i am looking at a Jimny tomorrow.......cant wait.

Regarding the lpg im not going to bother now but i have another question has anyone had their Jimny remapped more for the sake of better fuel consumption then performance although that would be a bonus.

??? Jimny is at normal operating temp in less than 2 miles and rogsmith is doing 50 miles a day
