Spring spacers, yey or ney

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationWhats people's thoughts on these spring spacers then? I might give them a try if my new tyres are scrubbing, recommended?

ive never used or tried them so cant really give a good opinion on them,

however, a chap i knew had them on his jimny to stop scrubbing tires, they did that, but also stiffend up the suspension so hard he could go round corners on 3 wheels.

I HAVE FITTED BITS4VITS 1.5 INCH SPRING SPACRES TO MY JIMNY A LITTLE BIT MORE EXPENSIVE BUT CUT TO FIT THE SPRINGS.RIDE IS OK.BAZ.

I've just fitted the Bits4Vits ones a couple of weeks ago. Since they are cut to shape they effectively remove most of one coil of spring which stiffens them a bit, more than I was expecting anyway. The ones you were looking at won't do this. Apart from that there won't be much, if any, difference.

I'm also interested in this, how does it affect your articulation as it stiffens them up? Also does anyone running them top out the standard shocks? Just trying to weigh them up against a lift kit - which i would have to wait a few more months for.

I've got simillar 2" spacers to those pictured (not the Bits4Vits ones) + extensions to the front and rear shocks, I got the kit made up by a guy on ebay (nofearzuks) - he does list a jimny 1 3/4" kit but it's not what he did for me - just message him with what you want to do (the price was very good), (TBH a lot of the shock extensions seem to be the same design now wherever they are bought).

If you just keep the shocks standard the ride will be very hard (the shocks will be pre-extended) - and articulation will be very limited. At first I fitted 1.5" spring spacers + 2" shock extenders and this too made the ride very hard - fitting 2" spring spacers sorted it and the ride is now pretty much spot on (for a Jimny!). I find that the steering is as good (or as bad!) as it was pre-lift so I won't be fitting castor correction bushes. If you fit longer shocks or shock extensions you will have to fit extended brake hoses - which is what I'm in the process of getting sorted now.

I was leaning towards a whole lift kit but wanted to hear how others get on with the spring spacers first as a slightly cheaper alternative for me.
