I got my Jimny serviced and MOT at my local family run garage this morning. Dropped off at 8:30 and phone call at lunch time to say it was ready. Always a good sign that, no extra items on the bill.

Another 12 months MOT with no advisories, nice.

Today I have mostly been waxoyl applying. Leviathan is a heavy swine even the wheels and tyres. Just waiting for Spare Jimny to be picked up and I can go see if Halfords have any more product for next year, seems to be a bit of a waxoyl drought at the moment.

Today I did the 5 wheel rotation at just under 6000 miles since I fitted the A/T's. The 4 on the ground have worn pretty evenly, no big difference between them. Can't believe it has taken me nearly 16 months to do that distance

Hi guys, Today we ppicked up my wife's new jimny from the dealership!! waw its wonderful although we left in a thunderstorm and during rush hour here in tiny Malta.
I have a question, the right side rear lights are not funtioning all 3 lights! might be something disconnected while the dealerships installed rear parking sensors. I wish too have a look before i take it back tomorrow. maybe its just a quick fix that i can do?

If it's anything like the gen3 then the connection is in the body and only accessed by removing either the interior trim or the bumper. I would let the dealer do it.

Did as you suggested, it was a quick fix as when fitting the parking sensors the connecting wires were not fully secured. All ok :-)
Thanks, appreciate you feedback.

This weekend it was time to give the back half of the Jimny a well-deserved scrub and paint. I've never given it a deep clean/de-rust so I attacked it with a wire wheel (several in fact), painted it up in rust encapsulator from Buzzweld, and then 'WAR' black chassis and underbody paint (also from Buzzweld). Great results - should hopefully keep the rust at bay. Had to do a few patch welds on different bits - body mounts had a few holes/thinning metal and a little hole on the panhard rod housing - nothing too serious.

All cleaned up and primed:

Under the boot and around the fuel tank got wire wheeled and then painted:

Hopefully I'll be able to get it back together one evening in the upcoming week.
