Photos underneath of how/where attached would be good (we're nosey like that). ;)[/quote]

Basically what I have done is take 2 x 50mm wide 12mm thick flat steel bars and drilled the d a 20mm hole for the shackle and 4 x 8mm holes for the high tensile bolts. I have then taken 2 x 40mm wide x 5mm flat steel bars drilled 4 bolt holes matching the 12mm bars then welded m8 nuts over the holes. I then placed the 12mm bars on the bottom of the rear chassis leg and marked the bumper and cut a couple of holes to allow the 12mm bar to fit through. I then positioned the bar where I wanted it, clamped it in place and drilled 4 x holes in the bottom of the chassis leg. Now I took the 5mm bar with the welded nuts and slid it inside the chassis leg, and screwed the bolts in. I assume this will be strong enough but it hasn't been tested yet, oh and I had to cut off the original recovery/tie down points. I hope this is useful to anyone thinking of fitting rear recovery points.

Nothing. Still in Dubai.

However, I did read an interesting write up about the Jimny in a local car magazine. "Not particularly comfortable and do not take out of town unless going off road, where it is great fun". No surprises there then. Stated it would run rings around the wrangler and patrol. Still no surprises.

BUT, off road out here is dune bashing which is great fun and as the Jimny is light it should just skim across the top (the yank jobs are useless - too heavy).

In view of recent comments regarding what sand does to the brakes, Suzuki must be bringing in Jimny discs, pads, drums and shoes by the container load!!!!!!

Nothing today as am on child care duties while my better half is at the races, last night I rewired the winch (not completed), test fitted new spotlamps, removed OSF wheel bearing and forgot to rebuild the NSR brake!

The never ending task of keeping a jimny on the road.
