What sort of cost are we potentially looking at for a tubular bumper?

We are in Hatfield near Doncaster south Yorkshire. And at a guesstimate about £300-£350

After years of Off-Roading my experiences with fibreglass is thats its totally useless as when you flex it cracks so wouldn't look good in no time.
And the same goes for carbon fiber! Yes very strong if loads are spread out so for a winch bumper you would need a steel backbone for it to stand any chance of survival. All these things have been tried with no success.

The reason I revived this thread was to ask people what they wanted first. We know what we will be making and the list is a mile long but "what first ?"

Thats you right to disagree and I'm sure there are lots of parts on a posh cabin cruiser that would be suitably made from carbon. But if you make a winch bumper "properly" then send it to me then ill show you just how long it would last ! Its not something we will be fabricating but if you want to then start a thread on it instead of spamming this one.
Horses for courses as they say ! You wouldn't take a race horse into a bull ring.

Anyway back to the point please

+1, I looked at this when I got my Liana engine where the a/c pump mounts.
Something I would buy.
