Anyone seen this mod or similar carried out? How much difference did/ would it make to the power output?

The engine looks like a G13BB but be aware that a lot of places in the world have the 600cc engined Jimny which has a Turbo.

The problem with a Turbo is that all of the power is generated at high revs, whilst for off-roading you really need all the power low down.

Still you could always do this!! Mine does it beautifully, but only due to the rear difflock

Yep its the early 1300cc jimny engine which i have, theyre not the strongest engine in the first place and i can imagine that it would eat itself if you bolted a turbo on the side - even if its just a little one like that. Biggest problem is WHERES THE WINCH GOING TO GO !

This is what Sukitech said:

"We have done the turbo conversion on both the G13BB and M13A motors in the jimny. To do the conversion we charge around the $5500 mark depending on the final configuration of the kit. Fuel consumption is around the same city driving and lower on country trips."

I'm sure someone will tell me what the G13BB and M13A engines are :)

The G13BB engine is the 1.3 Double over head cam engine. Not sure on the M13A engine.

Baz - wrong way around!

G13BB is the early Single overhead CAM engine fitted up to 2001. The M13AA engine is the Double overhead Cam engine fitted from 2001 to 2005 (all dates approximate - I have seen some G13BB engines as late wa 2003 - on Spanish softops)

My old 54 plate soft top had a G13BB engine, i bought that new in late September 2004 !
