Soft top - Fastback? was created by goatboy
Anybody on here got a fastback instead of the traditional softop back?
My soft top is looking a bit tatty and I wondered if a fastback was a simple, cheaper, easier to remove solution.... B)
Seem pretty rare though...

Anyone?

you'd lose the use of the back seats if you needed them

Don't need the back seats if I'm honest, I have an estate car for lugging loads and people...

hi
I have just picked one up of fleabay,it arrived on Monday via postie, and in better condition than i thought, like new

It took me all of 5 mins to remove the rear soft top (It is the type 2 roof)

Then about 5 mins again to get the fast back fitted and done

I did check with monsoon first who make the fastbacks and they said that as the jimny had a type 2 roof it would clip straight on,and it did, fitted a treat on every clip

Rear veiw visibilty is improved due to a bigger rear window, wind resistance seem less when on the motorway at about 65/70 and nice and stable when overtaking 18 wheelers, the added bonus is it looks great and was a total steal

Also nice and easy to remove and fold up in the summer

I do have the 3 velcro strips with the clips ready fitted spare, which are required if you want to fit a fastback to a jimny with a type 1 hood with zip out panels if anyones interested
