Does anyone use one of these?

I'm still using a hand held visor but with sills to be welded auto has got to be the way to go! Is £20 false economy? The Aberdonian in me is attracted to this price!! Seems to be down to viewing window size, the cheapies seem to be about 90 X 40 mm. Is there any advantage in spending £50, £200 or more?
Cheers,
john.

I have one and its fine apart from one issue. It does not fit my head well and the head adjustment is poor. Unless it is done up tightly it "flops" down during use. I guess thats one of the key differences, the expensive ones are designed to be used all day, every day comfortably. This one is only suitable for occasional use.

This is usefull i was thinking exactly the same!
Thanks, sounds ok for me then although i have a large head! Machinemart have them for £60 but didnt fancy paying that..
Martin are they better to weld with than the handheld, apart from the obvious bonus of having two hands available?

Much better than the handheld.
There is another small problem. The darkening feature reacts to normal bright light so if you are working with bright lighting to prepare and adjust your work it keeps going dark at inappropriate moments.

We have a Sealey one and a Machine mart jobbie, both seem decent enough but weren't cheap, if the e bay guys can do them for less then then go foir it, after all it is a welding helmet and will take a few knocks and drops.
We always wear hats under the helmet which overcomes the difficulties of kids with small heads.
No comparison with the hand held things. Its like the difference between the caveman's axe and a laser
