Hello,
does anyone know the official mpg for the Jimny in 4wd and 4wd low ratio. Mine is a 2004, and I swear I can see the gauge moving when in 4wd and especially 4wd low ratio!

Thanks,

W.

I dont know the official figures....

..I do know that mine is averaging 15 litres/100km (as per my Maxitrip computer which gets more accurate every fill as it does a %error calculation). Quite why it does not do UK MPG is still an arguing point for me!

Anyhow this translates as

3 Gallons/100km

or

3 Gallons/62.1 miles

or 20 MPG! - this is with a very high ratio of 4wd low ratio off-road driving compared to road driving

This is from a 1300cc Suzuki weighing just over a tonne.

My 2.7 litre 3 tonne Range Rover does 30mpg and keeps at 26mpg when towing the Suzuki on a heavy trailer - so Range Rover is more economical than the Suzuki even when it is towing the Suzuki.

You should hear the flak I get from the environmentalists for my big Range Rover, yet the real culprit is the small "eco-friendly" Suzuki,

My mate and my neighbour both have 3litre Land cruisers and average 30mpg! My little zook struggles to get that let alone average it. If i don't go to far and only go to work and back i can just about get 220 miles to a full tank but if i have to do a lot of running around combined town and dual carriageway i'm lucky to get 175ish!

If i'm off road all day at a pay and play day i can use almost 1/4 of a tank and i think managed iro 11 miles last time i was out.

With the 205/16 tyres on mine the MPG is shocking, it was not good before, I really need to get some smaller tyres on standard wheels for kncking about town on and watching winch challenges etc.

Went from Essex to Slindon in W Sussex at the weekend and wanted to get there before it started so maintained 70 mph as much as I could and used 3/4 of a tank there!!! A 2 hour journey and £30.00 spent!!!

Then they wanted £1.16 a litre when I got there, so I put only a tenner in and took it slowly on the way home!!!
