Bit more today... having had the last week "off" :woohoo:

Started by...

Jacking the rear up, took the spring retaining clamp off, spring out, spacer off, put to one side to post to JackOnlyJack tomorrow ;) and then...

Lowered it back down and re-assembled... all level! B)

Then, being as it was a nice day...

I pushed it outside again, where there is more space to open the half-doors...

And I fitted some edging trim all around the door apertures...

And, then, I spent the rest of the day wiring up the rear lights... all the wires are soldered and then heat-shrink sleeves applied with a hot air gun...

Here's the back of the number plate area, so the wires run behind the number plate so they are barely visible from the rear...

It's a job to show the lights working in photos, so here's the first video on my "Jimny Buggy" channel on YouTube! :woohoo:

Fasciniating video Huh? It's a start though... I hope to get into video editing and use the drone I bought off Martin in some of the videos I plan to make when I'm not out with Brett's group, as he's banned the use of drones ;)

Thanks! ;)

I'm still aiming for May to be out and about...

Brett's group have a trip local to me planned for the 23rd of May, so I'm aiming to be finished, MOT'ed and Insured and road legal by then, so probably April as it will need a couple of shakedown trips before heading out with the group... hate to have unforeseen  problems on it's inaugral trip! :silly:

Also, still waiting for us to start coming out of lockdown, so also when it's safe and legal to do so...

And afterall it is a bit of a "fair weather" vehicle for some fun in the sun, it's still got a windscreen and a soft-top roof, but half-doors and no back to it... so very much like a side-by-side UTV really... although the matching biker leather jacket turned up yesterday (Saturday) to keep me warm and dry, and protected from those pesky trees ;)

And then of course, it will be up to Yorskhire for the BigJimny Meet on the 20th of June :woohoo:

;)

Have you thought about pop on/off canvas top half doors for if the weather really turns while you are out? Would it be doable?

Ummm, no, and, no... :woohoo:

A few people have mentioned flaps and nets... it's a fair weather vehicle, and I'm becoming a fair weather 'Laner... ;) (Age, health, eyesight)

If I get up on a Sunday and the weather looks good I'll go for a nimble...

And if it's a planned group trip I'll wear my "big coat" (us northerners ;) )

The buggy will be taxed and insured all year round, so it's just flick the battery switch on and go... B)

Yes, in hindsight, I think so...

Not bothered about the fuel economy as it won't do much mileage, but if the LSD does go back in the front and the TG shafts (and possibly the Rocklobster I have sitting on the workbench) it would be best to run free wheeling hubs so that I can isolate in case of any damage...

I haven't banned Drones, you are welcome to bring "it" with you ... just that we won't stop for the time it takes you to set it all up ... although I'd love to see a drone caturing our escapades up Henryd and Pen-y-coed

Jalapeño, IISY?

No worries, I'll experiment with it soon and get the hang of it...

I'd like to do some videos like Duncan Barrett does ;)
