Time for a little fiddling today after spending most of the day chasing problems on J999MNY (but thats another story!)

Repainted and stickered Trailmaster shocks/springs and brand new Trailgear HD steering bars on. Then problems with the old brake calipers. Had forseen this so ordered some from ebay coming from germany (a new pair for £96.69). To fit tomorrow...

Brakes are important so theres some nice new braided hoses to go on in the parts stash as well. Also have a rear disc kit in the stash :-) ...

for this, which is starting to go back on as well...

And finally... My garage landlord has a side business with wagon tapaulin supply and repair. He got this made for the rear bed for me. The red is a bit bright, but it will look the part hopefully...

More tomorrow :-)

Back at the spanners again today. Got the new brake calipers on the front and new braided, extended and red lines on. Think I need to nip it up as it was weeping a bit on the connections to the old pipes (and bleed it all). Forgot a picture of that though

Onto sorting out the rear then.

Trimmed the old brake drum back plates off the rear shafts and cleaned them up. Popped back in a treat. Springs and shocks also nice and easy. Then the rear disc conversion kit out of the stash and onto the axle. Full braided hoses on as well and some nice stainless 'P' clips to hold the cross-axle pipe on securely.

Then the brake union on the chassis was rounded  so it got cut off and a nice new flare made with this tool...

Also had a problem with a cold welded nut in the bush of the panhard rod so fished that out, spare one in and welded the adjuster (once adjusted) to stop any future problems.

Then it was wheels back on and down to the ground time. Front wings bolted down and front bumper fitted. Wheel arch plastics fitted also. Coming along nice. Cage and pickup body next time...

Thanks guys!

Day of pipes and hoses today. Specifically breather hoses for axles, transfer box and gearbox.

I had tapped threads into the axles and t-box when they were off, and the gearbox just needed extended. Pipes tie wrapped under the car with some loops for movement and routed up to the battery area. Smaller airlines are for the ARB air locking diffs.

Joined the breathers together and took two pipes out to stick out of the plastic below the windscreen, then up the snorkel. Convenient drain used to get the pipes up through the scuttle panel...

view from inside the wheel arch:

Then made a neat little plate to mount the air compressor and manifold on. Had to move the screenwash bottle so made a plate for that as well.

Then the final hose thing was the fuel filler pipework. Little bracket and it fits neatly enough...

Finally moved it outside for a wash. Very dusty so looks good. No brakes however so it was a bit tricky and nearly hit the landlords van

Really need to get the brakes bled and see whats causing the ABS light to be on next. Wire up lights and checkover for MOT after that :-)
