My numatic Henry vacuum has died. The commutation bar shattered? Anyway I'm looking for a replacement but on a budget because emptying the front of Dreadnaught is akin to quarrying for gravel and slightly hard on the equipment. Killing 130 quid Henry Hoover's every 6 months is expensive even replacing motors while cheaper is a pain and takes time. I'm thinking that a 40 ish quid cheapo bagless will last at least as long and be less offensive to replace. What are people using? Yes I could go to the car wash and use theirs but it takes time and I got told off the last time.

I was about to buy a yellow one, Kärcher. or Nilfisk. But then i saw a test of wet/dry industry models, and found a much cheaper one that was just as good. A blue type think it was a norwegian branded Co-tech something like your halfords probably.
The function where you can put a power tool connected to it and it auto starts is nice, even the cheap ones have that now.

I never got around to buying one and have been using my 20 year old Miele indoor vacuum for years now for everything outside and it just refuse to die. Been abusing it for all sorts even helped in a garage where someone had emptied a fire extinguisher and was shure that would kill it, but no.. just keeps on.
And remember that nothing sux like electrolux :)

A second hand upright Dyson thing, they run forever, parts are cheap and they'd suck a golf ball up a hose pipe.....

Sorry I was distracted.

They are available second hand? I'll have a look. Cheers.

Well reminded. I am now the proud owner of a terratek 3 in 1 wet and dry 15l shop vac. It blows too. Seems quite a tough little thing and it weighs less than 5kg which is great for the car and also the house stairs. Not bad for less than 40 quid.
