This last weekend I went to Wales Rally GB in my Jimny. It's a long way from Essex with a whining Rocklobster and humming tyres and 'interesting' driving through the hills and mountains of Wales on roads in such a low powered vehicle.
TomTom sent me up an interesting road though on Friday:
Now we all know that we have to do what TomTom says, so I went up it, just to find I had got my co-ordinates wrong and had to go back along this track. Now it was a little more precarious than perhaps I ought to have done on my own with a sheer drop to my left on a track that had a waterfall crossing it in the middle that had washed away much of the track:
But TomTom said I had to do it - so I had to do it, naturally! Fortunately I chose to take Ze Jimny and not Ze Beemer!
I stopped off at Gwyndaff Evans Ford / Suzuki Dealers which was on Sunday, so it was closed but those in the know will remember Gwyndaff Evans as a rally driver in the BRC / WRC in years gone by and his son Elfyn is now in the WRC. He came 6th in Wales Rally GB. Not bad for a young gun!
So anyway - back to the Rally. Here is my photo album for those that are interested:

Here are some of my faves from them for those who can't be bothered to look at them all!

Fantastic, I used to go and watch when Carlos Saintz was rallying. It seems like every year since then I've been working on the weekend of the rally!
