Hi Martin

I remember the club had a rule about both battery terminals being covered in case of an 'incident', is that something people need to be aware of?

I used to have a spray can lid taped on with electrical tape which sufficed

Also they were hot on not having loose items in the vehicle, like recovery gear in the boot, so a holdall strapped down was ok

As it's a private hire it is down to me.

However my insurer requires a risk assessment that I will send out to every entrant in which common sense items such as no exposed battery terminals or loose items will be explained

Question for the locals. If I wanted to go into that there London on the Saturday morning and wanted to go on the train, would I be better for parking going from aldermaston or reading?

Aldermaston, parking will be easy and I think free on a Saturday.

Quick train to reading then into Paddington.

If I recall correctly there are even a few trains that go directly from Aldermaston (still via Reading) but you don’t have to change.

Nice one. I was thinking about driving in but the train is only about 20 quid and I don't have to worry about leaving Dreadnaught in a random car park in the smoke at a million pounds an hour.

Definitely don't drive in!

I sometimes drive in as far as Ruislip Gardens tube station and take the train from there when we go to see a west-end show or something..

...But that's only because I can get on RAF Northolt with my ID and park the car up there, leaving it under armed guard for free B) ;)

IF IT AINT BROKE, KEEP FIXING IT UNTIL IT IS

An alternative is the Park and Ride Bus Service, which is probably less than 2 miles from the Hotel (just off Junction 11 of the M4) and you will pass it on the way to the hotel. Search for "Three Mile Cross park and ride" or "Mereoak Park and Ride" - these are the same place.

This will take you into Reading. The only thing to watch with the Park and Ride is that the service stops promptly in the evening as all the shops will be closed so no late returns.

It's bad enough having to mix with the unwashed masses on the train without having to resort to the depths of depravity and actually board a bus. Aldermaston train i think. Thanks for the advice.
