3'' lift questions was created by DS-ZOOK
Hi, I am looking at lifting my Jimny with a 3'' Tough Dog lift.
My main question is I have been reading around and just wondering what the go is with everyone getting "custom" front shocks. I read custom front shocks everywhere but no one really elaborates on what this is.
Also I'm not set on the Tough Dogs, and have only just started looking into lifts so if anyone can recommend a "better" 3'' lift for virtually the same price which is $1,000 Aud that would be appreciated
Cheers

Not sure what you mean by custom shocks. Most Jimnys on this forum that get a suspension lift use Procomp or Rough Country shocks that are not made for the Jimny but for some unknown US truck.
But Tough Dog suspension is good quality suspension kit made for the Jimny. Same goes with Old Man Emu, Dobinsons, Terrain Tamer, Trail Master etc..

I got this kit, it was by far the cheapest for springs and shocks,
to correct the lift I then had to buy pan hard rods, radial arms, prop spacer, and extended brake lines all from different jimny forums, totalling about £700 of parts
