Off topic but Japanese mx5s have the exact same rust protection as UK ones, add the fact they have usually had 10 + years less use on salted roads mean they are nearly always more rust free then a UK car the same age.

they are in better condition yes, but it is pretty well known that unless they are rust proofed on arrival they don't last long.

Yep, my Jimny has liberal splashing of ACF-50 on anything I think might look like corrosion, and any brake connector or union gets a splash. Behind my headlights, a little bit painted in to the jack well in the boot, up and over the fuel tank etc.

I bought it for the bike but now it gets sprayed on all sorts. Once or twice a year (before summer, sometimes top up before winter depending on my plans) I take all the bodywork and radiators off my bike and degrease and clean the whole engine and all the nooks and crannies. And then lightly/patchy spray on ACF-50 and then work in/all over with a brush and wipe off any excess. Keeps her looking sweet.
