It's a matter of supply and demand yota 70 axles are not cheap but possibly the best option Hilux rear diff in the wrong place think what does get over looked with yota 70s is not only do you get a stronger axle you also get a better ratio price that up with a Jimny axle and you will be talking big bucks

Of course as you say, at matter of demand and supply. Here in Denmark we've had and still have the Patrols and earlier the 70 series as you have Defenders. Which is why defender axles are much cheaper than LC or Patrol stuff in the UK and likewise Defender stuff is a bit pricier here in Denmark compared to Patrol stuff. But some of those using their Defender for racing put Y61 axles on. Much stronger than most LR upgrades, and much much cheaper. Something the UK guys only in the last couple of years have discovered B)
