ive done water lane a few times in mine I didn't think it was to bad I don't see what all the fuss is about I know worse places and i mite be about up that way this week end

Need to have a snorkel and a big winch , there's a big rock step half way not sure if any 4x4 could do it

im sure that steps not there any more didn't notice it some times i went down it and last time i was looking out for it but got to the end and wondered were it had gone and its not like you could of missed it ( ive seen it on my bike a few times)

heres a water lane pic i like these bits i rolled mine on the side shortly after this pic lol rock solid stainless snorkel to the rescue lol works as a great roll cage

Thats not much different to parts of Ride Lane near (ish) Guildford. I got my standard J down most of it but got beached in a rut as it was Uber muddy :-D
