engine conversion, need ECU identification help. was created by MajorTob
Hi all! Im a new member, i hope to pick your brains about a few things!
i have a technical question.
I have a ECU from a jimny I believe its actually out of post '98 Jimny model that has an immobiliser.
Would you have any more details on this model ECU 081A5? i know its from g13bb engine, but not the year.
does it have an immobiliser?
and can you point me in the direction for a pin out diagram for it at all?
im helping a friend do a g13bb swap into his old 80's something sierra. And i think ive already spotted two hurdles, no speedo input, and immobilser.
he got the ecu and loom with the engine years ago. but not the cabin loom. if it has an immobiliser in this ecu, we're stuffed arent we?

Some Suzukis and a bunch of motorcycles.

You may be lucky, I think that's an early Australian ECU so it probably doesn't have an immobiliser. Generally it will say IMMO on it if it does need one. I don't have access to the parts database at present, I expect Martin can advise.

Do you have a better number than that?
I would look for a number like 33920-81AS0 as this is the correct format
Note however that the digits 81AS0 are similar to your 081A5 if mis-read. A 33920-81AS0 ecu does not have the immobiliser

the sticker is a bit scratched. it could be
33920-01A5 1 instead
is these a online database you guys are using? im finding a lot of miss information. or no informational at all, anywhere.
once we get this sorted, i have more questions also. like, will the lack of a speedo input put the ecu into limp-home mode or something. its a auto ecu, but the siera has a 5speed manual now.
also, as its an auto ecu with that smaller secondary computer bolted on top, can i remove that and all the auto wiring?? or does the main ecu look for some sort of handshaske between it and the auto ecu?
once again, thank you for letting me pick your brains guys.

A comprehensive wiring diagram for whatever model this ecu (and i have the matching loom) came out of would answer most of my questions. But, the guy Im helping out cant remember anything about the jimny he took these components from...

That ECU number is not listed at all world wide on my admittedly old database
Here is the early Australia list, I do not have the later lists so it might be in there but the later ones would be with an immobiliser
By the way, there is no magic in this, just Google
