i seem to have the same issue as you with my G13BB jimny & i still don't have a resolution, but i can tell you what i've done trying to diagnose:

- disconnected exhaust at manifold; was easy to do & was to try & see if the cat was blocked

- swapped cam sensor; easy to do as well, apparently they can act up even if just covered in oil if you've been going up hill so maybe remove it & clean it (no gasket, just has a rubber o-ring on it)

- changed spark plugs & coil packs; i have a G16B baleno engine i'm fitting so all these sensors etc i just have on hand as spares luckily

- cleaned PCV pipe & valve; it was clogged completely solid, did this at the same time as replacing spark plugs & received an enormous boost in low end torque

- cleaned little orange valve nipple thingy; don't know what it's called but it's toward the back of your inlet manifold & connects via a hose to the MAF sensor, it's difficult to do unless you have deep sockets (i think it was 22mm but don't remember sorry)

- checked EGR valve; i thought it was going to be this, it's in a really bad spot, toward bottom of manifold/engine. had to climb into the engine bay, managed to remove the top of it to actuate the valve & it was working freely

- MAF sensor; well i'm sure it's related to this. if you disconnect the host from the bottom of the MAF sensor & start the car it's meant to idle at 2,000rpm. mine used to but now stutters & barely runs with it disconnected (plus smoke goes everywhere). however if i rev the engine with it disconnected there's no splutter at all. i tried the baleno MAF sensor but the issue is still there. another thing i can do is partially cover the air intake with my hand & rev the engine & there's no splutter as well (not that this helps but shows it's leaning out on initial throttle).

hopefully there's something there that will help you, if you find a solution to your problem i'd love to hear as i'm still stuck with mine. good luck.

Sounds like you are running too lean.

Sorry accidentally deleted my response, new cam sensor fixed it but your responses have been useful as my old one was coated in oil so might have been ok cleaned. Oh well it's running now so next step is replacing the rear bearings :s
