today I popped over to HastieKid for some generous FOC 1.5" spring spacers that he'd taken off his truck after having fitted his 3" lift.

here's the HastieKid Truck with 1.5"

when I met up with Ian, he'd changed his mind - and threw in his nearly new shocks (off a 61 plate) with bonded extensions :woohoo:

THANKS VERY MUCH IAN - TOP BLOKE ;)

was keen to fit them straight away, but as insurance renewal is due in Aug, will wait and switch to a 4x4 modded specialist.

happy chappy
:)

couldn't wait

put my 1.5" spring spacer and shock extension kit on today. B)

went pretty straightforward although we did have to grind off the off-side front upper shock nuts. :pinch:

loving the extra 1.5", it does feel much bigger, but as the missus will tell you, we always appear to think it's bigger than it really is

it also feels like the on-road ride has improved, don't know why that's happened though

here's some pics

without a lift

original standard set-up

with the spacer and shock extension fitted

how she looks now

also made a little movie of some highlights there's a soundtrack on it if interested (melt yourself down - fix my life)

big thanks to my mate Gary of Jackson-Tyre-Services for his assistance and know-how (anyone interested he's your man in South Shields for tyres, servicing, welding, custom brake lines, lifts, basically anything engineering - PM me if you want to make contact)

Massive thanks to HastieKid for providing the kit, but what have you been doing - this was one of your rubbers

enjoy

;)

Nice one. Thinking of maybe giving mine a lift, bottomed it in a gateway this afternoon... It was very deep rutted

some wrote in a post a while ago (can't recall who)

Just had the OME 40mm lift kit fitted to my 2007 jimny. First impressions are that
ride has improved, but if I'm honest it feels overall a little 'rolly polly'. It's not as jittery over bumps, but it's lost it's 'go-kart' feel that it had with the lower suspension.

totally agree ....... steering feels a little "barge-like" you get used to it, but think I'll fit a steering damper and see if it helps.

;)
