Steering wheel rubbing feeling was created by gman88667733
Went to see a 1999 Jimny today and was slightly concerned that when I turned it on full lock to the right, it felt like there was resistance/stiffness in the steering wheel or almost like rubbing? I'm not sure if this is normal. Was my first time driving a Jimny, so am not sure what to expect.
Thanks.
Thanks.

It was definitely in 2WD. It felt odd, there was a fair bit of resistance.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

If the steering box is adjusted too tight to take out excessive wear in the straight ahead position, it gets tight when it is on full lock. Maybe this is the problem?

On the 9th day he swapped it for a Jimny.

Could have been a seized or stiff swivel joint, on the connection rod between the column and steering box, I've had that.
