Wont fire 52 plate Jimny 02 - Help

My baptism of fire with my new 02 gets better, firstly the wheel bearing now it wont start - turns over as normal just wont fire!!!

Trawled through some obvious post re EML - Anyone got a link to show a diagram of the dash board warning lights.

its thrown the eml + the bottom left yellow light which has a padlock on it - anyone know what this is?

Having a look through post re diagnostic reader as well so will probably need on of those as well as a box of matches and a can of petrol !!!!!

Padlock is immobiliser
have you tried disconnecting the battery ?
is the battery fully charged

It's the immobiliser. Are you using a different key? Sometimes people get a spare cut but don't get it coded to the immobiliser.

i had exactly the same thing this year orange padlock light came on the engine would turn no problem but it would not fire , just by sheer luck i found the problem i went to undo the earth wire on the battery when i found that the small bolt that earth,s it to the inner wing was slack i tightened it up and bingo , it had enough connection to make the engine turn , but too little to make the ecu happy ,

Cheers all, had a play around under the bonnet nothing obvious but tightened all battery connections + wd40. Starts fine now, key wise no using the standard key that came with the vehicle so hopefully all sorted now.

Still got the EML on, but it appears to run fine however exhaust is a lot blacker - before it was just rusty inside the exhaust pipe no soot - now theres a coating of soot but no smoke?

Its got a new lambda probe on the manifold is there a second probe further down the system as well?

Yes 2nd one on the main cat near the gearbox
