Mine does, but only notice it very occasionally, certainly not every trip and not very loud.

Just a thought, but has anyone with an Auto noticed this noise?

My hearing is pretty shot, especially to higher pitch levels, but I have never noticed the dreaded "micro grind" from my Auto.

"The dreaded micro-grind" .... O'hh that made me chuckle that :cheer:

That's food for thought ...... it so far seems to be the manuals only. If that is confirmed, then perhaps the more mechanically experienced members may be able to hone in on a cause.

Interesting stuff.

Would probably be very easy to locate and repeatable if someone had access to a dyno. As can be recreated static so different areas can be checked and the noise located. Shame I don't have one local otherwise I'd be on it!

I definitely have not heard this noise, done around 4,000 miles now. Occasional judder first couple of times pulling away, but apparently that's normal for the type of clutch material.

Anyone thought about taking it up with dealer?

I've not had it, but I have an auto - all the posts I've seen have been manual owners.

Yes Andy, Manual.

Did around 2,000 mile across France and Belgium this month. No funny noises, rattles, never missed a beat. I am usually quick to notice mechanical noises and often then stress myself out for ages trying to sort them! :(

Hopefully its not damaging in any way. I thought I saw a technical bulletin on here regarding a noise?

My auto doesn't do it either- yet ;)

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

Are we absolutely certain that it isn't the abs pump priming itself?

One of the last 200ish of the gen3s, probably.
