I've just booked Dreadnaught in at one of the tyre chains to get the wheel alignment checked. Told the man it was a Jimny and his first question was "has it been lowered?" Eh? It is a Jimny. It could be sat on the bump stops without any springs and still be able to get onto a 4 poster ramp? Not only that but it is solid front axle so the ride height has no bearing on any part of the steering geometries that a tyre plce is going to be able to adjust.
It really inspires confidence!
Fortunately I went to school with the lad who does all their alignment and he is sensible otherwise they would have lost a customer.

I know how you feel, last time I got my mud tyres put on it was all a bit stressful and there is no care taken now either, smash bang wallop, might be getting some new rims and tyres for my mini but haven't a clue where to take it so they don't get damaged.

The major chains lost my custom many years ago. Find a good independent you trust and they will look after you for your loyalty.

Well it's funny you should say this
When i replaced all four rod ends.I used a plank of wood
marked the centres fitted new ones
Took it for tracking and the guy said no need to adjust it's within tolerance

As Kirkynut says, but one small word of caution, the great little (2 man) garage, that looks after our cars (me + wife)...... now looks after all the kids cars.... SEVEN cars for service and MOT + tyres. They do look after us but they do well too, just as it should be...
My credit card keeps being used as the emergency "oops I didn't service it last year" fund, they do pay it back but I had nearly 3K on it at one point last year.....
