Hi all. Been hearing whinning noise coming from the front for a while spend a lot of time in the Jim do mileage weekly but assumed it was potentially a wheel bearing. Finally got it into a garage today to give it a once over and its come back saying I should look at getting a second hand differential. So question is can anyone point me in the right direction in sourcing one? Or advice?

Err. In normal operation the front diff is neither powered by the transmission nor is it driven by the wheels. It shouldn't be moving nevermind making a noise. I think you need to try a garage that knows what they are looking at.

Just read through this. Is the Jimny FWD or RWD in 2WD mode?
