Morning all.

Bit of a dull subject I know, but changing my Jimny from daily driver to garaged toy which will just do pay and plays...

Currently with Adrian Flux with my Jimny and the volvo that'll become my daily, but wondered if there any recommendations for good, 4x4 centric insurers for weekend toys?!

Cheers in advance and have a random pic of mine to relieve the boredom slightly!

Your already with Adrian Flux, I would talk to them about reducing your policy.

NFU are also good.

I was thinking the same as Martin.
It's not old enough for a classic car policy (tend to be cheaper) and will still be considered a normal road biased risk as it is now.
Ask Flux if you can limit the miles per year to reduce the cost.
Also get a quote from Admiral, the multi car can be cheaper.
Insurance is a personal minefield, what works for one may not for another.
How about a trailer and forget all this insurance and road tax nonsense?

Yokohama Geolanders, Sony head unit, NAUTILUS Air Horn, DRL conversion, Rear cargo space, Elvis Bobblehead, transfer Guard, Indian hanging Elephant, Koni Heavy track dampers, Custom SS exhaust, Voodoo Doll, Adventure Rack with LED ight bar, vintage ERIBA caravan usually attached (yes it's slow)

I'd love a trailer but can't...garage footprint won't quite fit one and requires an extra driving test as well as a better car to tow with :( its why I stopped stockcar racing as I stored the car at the track and kept getting it messed with! Plus it'd be good to use it once in a while with the roof off in summer, or if my old clunky volvo broke down or whatever it can be backup!

I'll just speak to Flux then...possibly the Volvo can go classic as its 28, jimny as 2nd. Just thought there may be a real specialist ins. company I was unaware of :)

Lancaster Insurance offer some bespoke terms - My 70's Midget is insured with them. I have used them many times.

Also try Routen Chaplin - I have my vintage MG insured through these guys. Try and speak to Kim Eaton - he's hugely helpful and knowledgeable.

I'm sure there are many other companies out there, but the above two suit me well for my needs and have been very helpful and flexible.

Having said that, I just (today) re-insured the modern Midget with Footman James . They were £1 cheaper than the Lancaster renewal price (£129) and I felt I got significantly better cover to boot.

I had to sort it out today as the Midget insurance expires while I'm working in Holland for the next 3 weeks
