Hi!

I'm hoping to do Gatescarth on the May 11th running but upon applying for a permit I see you can only do so as pairs. So no Billy-no-mates in other words.

I'm going to be doing it in a new Jimny and hopefully showing the Defender boys how it's done. If anyone else fancies it and wants to be my partner in crime please get in touch and we can hopefully sort the permit and make a date of it.

Full disclosure - I'll be doing this in my job as a motoring journalist and writing various stories on it. Entirely up to you as to whether you want to play a part in that but, either way, we'll have a photographer with us so you'll get a bunch of nice pictures of the day as a memento. Hopefully a fun day out too!

Reply here or drop me a line to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and hopefully we can fly the flag for the Jimny together!

Cheers,

Dan

Looking at the LDNP website, it says...

A maximum of 12 4 x 4s or quad bikes (in groups of two, three or four vehicles) will be permitted on any one permit day.

So if there's space in the group I'd be interested in this!

Well that escalated! You Jimny guys are keen - credit to you!

With myself, Adam, John/Sniper and Riccy that makes us four and enough to apply, which I'll happily coordinate. If you haven't already please email me with your reg, wheelbase (it's a requirement of the application for some reason!), full name, phone number and home address.

They ask if we're affiliated with any particular club so I can put down BigJimny forum if you're happy for me to do that?

Top work fellas, thanks for the fast replies!

Just read up on the wheelbase requirement and it's a limit of 100 inches, presumably because of the tight turns and to stop wannabes in Trophy Trucks trying it at 60mph!

Suffice to say I think Jimnys fall well within the restriction!
