I see that a company in the UK is going to sell a Van based on the new Jimny within the next couple of months. (Has VAT tax advantages in UK)

Suspect it might be KAP Suzuki as they do this sort of thing. However must be in short supply as they have to buy through the chain like everyone else.

I was told shortly after we did the same with Ermintrude that the loophole in tax for conversion to van prior to registration had been closed and the only way to get a car van was if it had been manufactured from scratch like the Astra van or discovery commercial?

Was many vans like this here in Norway but for the SJ it stopped around 1987 when they said you had to fit a larger pallet of some size into it.
Later a taller box on the pallet, and now it is a bit bigger than a euro pallet.
1985 to 1987 the SJ had a tall soft top to get less tax and looked stupid.
With the box-size there have been some problems as many cars get a glass fiber bulb on the roof, gets the floor cut out or gets the interior cut to fit the box. And most vans are designed to fit the euro pallet..

No size requirements with you guys?

We do get stupid laws and tax outside the EU as well you know :)
