Hiya, i have the Black Raptor shocks, on my 2inch lift, formerly known as the pro comp, as far as i am aware.
Great shocks, sensible price too..performance i would say is as good as a friends jimny with much more expensive shocks,
Got them from: www.jimnybits.com.
Dunno the price now, but i bought my 2inch lift kit from them.

As with many other things, you get what you pay for. Be it Pro Comp, Rough Country etc.
Those raptor things are of unknown origin painted black with a sticker.
With a 2" lift I wouldn't get anything cheaper than OME, Trail Master, Tough Dog and such, as it's fairly easy to find something that fits.

wow its been a long time since posted on here but thought might as well clear some shock questions up, after the years of working within the market
The Procomp ES1000 shocks have been discontinued by procomp as they are not a big enough seller for them, as focusing on there other shocks and have kept the ES3000 and ES9000 range, we have around 70 ish left in ES1000 so once they go thats the end of them
we keep some ES3000 and ES9000 for the jimny and rear of vitara but they are not that common now and prices are creeping up with the exchange rates, they are mostly fat bodied so if you have worn bushes cause the spring to hit the shock and tend to be too stiff for the average jimny user, they are more popular with heavier jimnys
Over the years the 10,000's of procomps we sold they have been ultra reliable for us, they are a cheaper shock due to the amounts they are produced in (in thousands)
OME shocks are made by Tenneco for ARB, to ARB's specifications, more expensive as they go though so many sales channels before they get to the customer as every channel puts there slight mark up on and are not mass produced as rough country / procomps
There seems to be some idea that Trail Master is a real premium brand, mainly as its expensive is must be better! But I know for a fact their shocks are just as "cheap" as all other cheap shocks out there, as ive spoken to the "far eastern" supplier who supplies Trail master and she was showing me on her sales stand the bright orange shock that they make for a German company, at the time i couldn't think who this could be until she zoomed in on the photo and I noticed it was a Vitara Strut, i asked if it was trail master by Mass and she said yes we make them
They are made to trailmasters specification as you would expect, but not all trailmaster parts are made in Germany!!
Trailmaster have a niche market in the fact that most of the full kits are TUV approved as in Germany this is a must so if you want lift kit in Germany you must pay what ever Trailmaster say.
Black raptor is a brand owned and managed by us, the shocks are made specifically for us to our specifications based on lifted 4x4's of many models ( we do other models than suzuki), as we can order in such high quantities we can get great prices as we order in the thousands.
We can pick the colour, bushing type, pistonrod style (as you can get a black pistonrod) etc etc
Black raptor shocks are made specifically for the model its fitted to, the non adjustable are designed to offer a slightly better ride than standard and for the average 4x4'er and this is also the feedback we get from customers.
We introduced the fully adjustable black raptor shocks to cover more of a range of jimny driver, from the guy who wants a really soft ride to the guy that wants to carry an extra 500kg, this was achieved by testing the original jimny shocks and adjusting the valving to suit over a set range, each shock is hand tested and a test certificate given for the damping range, if your in the know with your shocks you will be able to tell who makes these adjustable shocks for us! but same again as we buy in such are large amount they allow us to brand their shocks, just like OME do with tenneco.
Over the next year we will be sending most parts to be TUV approved but wont be adding £300 to a kit just for a certificate
we have been that busy we have not got around to listing shocks to be ordered on their own, but hope to get it sorted in the next few weeks.
I hope this clears a few shock questions up

Thank you for the Rus. Very informative.
You seem to have good knowledge of where the different brands are made.
So where and by who are the Black Raptor shocks made?

Temeraire (2018 quasar grey automatic)
One of the last 200ish of the gen3s, probably.
ADOS Attention Deficit Ooooh Shiny!
Forgive me for asking this but why are the black raptor rebranded dampers any better than the other rebranded dampers you are seemingly at pains to point out as being somehow inferior because they aren't directly manufactured by the brand whos name they carry?

Hi mate, those 'Raptor Things' as you call them, are silver ,or black, sticker is your choice..fit it or not, and, the ride is better,i bought mine to replace original shocks, which were getting a bit tired, and decided to lift at same time, just because you pay more for something, you don't always get a better product..
I have been pushing straight line boundaries on 2 x wheels for years, and, same applies for performance engine parts and suspension, there are a lot of cheap rubbish out there, but also just as much overpriced cheaper rubbish..
You just have to find what works for you
If you 'REALLY' use your 4x4 then buying top options, proven top options is fine, but, if like me, and probably if honest, 60/70% of drivers on here, its more occasional and fun..then why pay top dollar.
I bought my Jimny as a general runaround, bit of off road, green lane fun, and as a little workhorse, for pulling a trailer, etc.
We regularly go to lakes/wales..and this was the idea of a jimny..to get places we wouldnt risk the car.
At the end of the day, i like my 4x4 to look the part if nothing else.

"the shocks are made specifically for us" - probably in China and the "specifically" part is sticking a label/paint colour on
