Hi All,
New to the forum. Just bought my self an 06 Jimny with 110k miles for 1600 pounds.
Few questions to ask.
What size wheels can I fit on this for all round use ion some off road?
Pretty sure it needs king pin bearings, is this a simple job?
The gear leaver is really sloppy. All gears drive done and the car drives well. What needs replacing?
TIA
Tom

You should try the search function.
Your question regarding tyres sizes is asked 2-3 times a week and comes with different answers depending on type of tyre, suspension, lift etc.

Hi and welcome
For sloppy gear stick you will need to buy 2x Austin mini exhaust bobbins.
Also check the rear engine mount which is on the rear of gearbox.
When you're under checking engine mount you will see the 2 rubber bobbins
All of the above are easy to change with basic tools

Welcome along,
The 2006 jimny you have wont have the rubber bobbins in the gearstick linkage the same as the earlier ones. It does have bushes on the linkage, but in a different place and theres 4 of them.
2006 will be a 1.3 M13a VVT engine with R72 gearbox and push-button transfer box.
The engine mount is the most likley culprit, its at the back of the gearbox. If you crawl under and try to push the gearbox up or left and right it shouldnt move, if it goes up or sideways then the mount at the back has gone and needs replaced. Bigjimny shop is best place to get a new one and are easy to fit.
Have a look in the wiki section of this site for loads more info on common issues (including kingpins and tyres)
