Hi all. For those who have removed their front carpet, does doing so make the car unbelievably loud? It's just it has taken me a quarter of an hours fafing about with a vacuum cleaner to get it clean enough to start cleaning it. Mostly it's hay and cat hair and gravel and dried mud ground into the carpets at the edges of the rubber mats. So to my logic abandoning the carpets and just having a rubber mat has to be easier to keep clean, unless it would make my ears bleed?

As soon as a buy a Suzuki (Vitara in the old days, or a) Jimny that's destined to go offroad, I whip the carpet out and bin it... as you say it's only going to get muddy / wet / hairy and smell over time...

Never noticed any more road noise?

Except for the drumming of a nice set of mud tyres.... ;)

I've seen some of the South American-Made Jimnys have a rubber floor liner instead of carpet.

I wonder if lick up bed liner would make a difference to noise and be washable?
