Avoid remoulds for daily driving. New tyres are much better and safer.

Agree. Remould tyres are no longer the cheap option they once were when you are a multitude of new tyres available at similar price. That said if it's a specific patterns and use mostly off road then they can make sense.

Depends on the purpose. If you are pretty much just offroading then remoulds are a great bang for buck option. Although dubious quality and a massive pain in the ass to balance would make me question them on the road.

I would definitely avoid remoulds for daily driver. If you're looking for an aggressive tread and strong on-road performance I would recommend the BFGoodrich KO2 AT's.

I have the General Grabber X3 on my daily driver. For a mud tire they handle well and are not noisy. :)

There are a number of mud terrain tyres that are suitable for daily road use safely and quietly. Kumhos, BFG and MAXXIS to name a few. As long as you don't go aggressive you'll be fine.

Some less aggressive remoulds are fine too, just don't expect them to last as long. Malatesta remoulds are great quality.

As for balancing, use balancing beads. Since I've fitted them I'll not go back to weights on my Jimny.

All terrains are not good enough for the mud we get in this country and I'd argue that you'll do more damage to a greenlane spinning wheels with an AT than you would just driving it on a MT tyre.

Noise is no longer an issue on non aggressive MT's.

I never found any beads that would go through the valve. Are there any?

As regards balance beads, if you are on good terms with your local tyre fitter, he will just pop the tyre bead pour em in and bingo.
I dropped him a tenner for his trouble, keep him sweet for anything else.
They DO work..worth the cash.

The beads come in a bag with perforations on one side. As the wheel goes round the bag splits and the beads all come out. The tyre fitter just has to throw it in.

I've tried it with Airsoft BBs and didn't like it. They balanced the wheels in a matter of a few seconds, but every change of direction or bump makes them re-balance again. Not bad for highway, terrible for windy countryside roads.
