Well that shows a good old fashioned mechanical Transfer box selector.

The 1.5 litre engine says k15B.

That is a Renault engine :(

I doubt if that will do 140,000 miles like my M series....

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

Not sure it is a Renault unit, reading around it looks like its a new Suzuki developed engine, not listed anywhere as a Renault engine that I can see. Renault "K" engines are either 1.4 or 1.6 petrol's, the diesel is 1.5, so it would figure that it isn't Renault derived. Well, I certainly hope it isn't for the same reasons you do...

Yes I think you are getting mixed up with the current diesel engine in the Jimny. This is a Suzuki petrol engine from it's van range, first appearance in a non-commercial vehicle

I much preferred the 4x4 stick change, it was easy to knock it into high 4x4 quickly when the road conditions changed such as a flooded road. With the switch it meant taking your eyes off the road whilst you stabbed the dashboard with your finger...:)

I'm with Dan

edit: just zoomed in on the pic and have the following conclusions...

1. it says to press to get to 4wd low.

2. the rubber boot is mounted to the floor the same as the gearstick

3. its back from the current body shell hole for t-box stick, but that could be as its a new shell

4. much less plastic around the gearstick (good thing :-) )

That means it could be;, this could be a mockup/fake pic, or its actually manually operated (preferred option). suspect the elec however. Elec t-box have been in them since 2005 and work ok until the warranty is out or they are modified, why change?

J999 MNY, ULYSSES M18 VVT with ITB's Dyno tested at 130hp

Pickup/tipper, R7me gearbox & 6.4 Rocklobster, 31" Toyo MT, 2x ARB air locker 3.9 diffs in braced axles, 6" total lift, Floating rear conversion, Raptor painted, CB, Recaro's, Caged, etc, etc...

There is another small picture on a separate page showing the transfer box on its own, complete with gearstick installed. So in that market they are offering a fully manual one

Spoke with the region's franchise to show an interest and get notified. He said he thinks we are looking at December/January to start to order one. Thinks it might be priced about the same as the current new ones so in my case that's £15kish.

Do it right - use Hammerite

That long a wait just to order one? Boo! I'd order one tomorrow if I could, hurry up and get them into the UK Suzuki GB!
