I have just picked up a (new to me) 2000 plate Jimny which I already love but mpg is a bit of a shocker! I reckon I will get around 240 miles from a full tank. Does this sound about right? Around £40 to fill to the brim. Hopefully this will be a reliable little runaround :)

Welcome to this brilliant Forum, Bart. ...and yes, if you're getting 240 to a tank you're doing well
The aerodynamics of a house brick don't help, but the grin factor more than makes up for it
Enjoy your new toy....and don't forget to post pics ;)

Gus:)

I'm planning to live forever.....so far, so good !!

Thanks for the replies! This might be a quick love affair but if loving the Jimny is wrong.... I don't wanna be right!

MPG a bit of a shocker, that's what I thought exactly. Probably because I came from a new diesal car. I agree with Gus though the grin factor surely does make up for it and you'll have heaps of fun in it! :-)

Cool choice. As far as fuel goes it has a lot to do with how you drive. As an example, occasionally mother takes mine round the sheep and I assume because she drives it like a diesel, chugging in too high a gear she comes back having used noticeably more fuel than i would doing the same trip. Father is even worse as he insists on revving the nuts off it in low box. Then by turns I have been out in it for joy rides with friends in seriously quick cars up in the hills giving it something to think about and only used 35 quid of super unleaded hooning about all day. I am aware that there are significant differences between my 2011 car and your 2000 but they could be a lot worse on fuel.

I remember those days...they're behind me now....If I drive at the average Jimny speed I'm all good.......but who can resist?
