Yes it did come with a gasket Rob. I got the paper in case I needed to refit the old stat or reseal the new one.;) Sometimes these jobs have to be revisited a few times. I also used some gasket sealant. Belts and braces me.

I finally have the gauge showing (what I call) normal temp at ⅓ into the normal sector. It was interesting to feel the top hose suddenly get hot coolant. Previously it was always lukewarm.

Last summer the gauge never left the cold sector. I tested the old stat and it opened at 62° when it should open at 82°. Not sure if it was actually defective or just that 82° was too low. I know the saucepan test is not a wonderful test. Also this is a cool country and fitting the 88° stat I hope will be a good move. I was toying with blanking off the rad in the winter, the heater was a cooler.:laugh: :laugh: but won't need to do that now I hope. Should be a lot better now.

Postie was a bit weighed down by this lot!

13500lb winchmax SL with dyneema rope, jimnybits mount (and also rear disc conversion kit, hoses to follow)

And... Winchmax say that yes the freespool leaver casing on the end can be rotated to put the lever on the front instead of the top :-)

J999 MNY, ULYSSES M18 VVT with ITB's Dyno tested at 130hp

Pickup/tipper, R7me gearbox & 6.4 Rocklobster, 31" Toyo MT, 2x ARB air locker 3.9 diffs in braced axles, 6" total lift, Floating rear conversion, Raptor painted, CB, Recaro's, Caged, etc, etc...
