Yes get it serviced . Check the plugs to see if there are any signs of running rich. It might be worth throwing in some injector cleaner next time you go on a longish run. It won't do any harm anyway.
Of course it might be worn how many miles has it done??

I started off high and worked my way down ever since :-)

Yeah, some small cars are not as good on fuel as manufacturers would like you to think. At least with the Jimny you have the fun of a vehicle that you can take anywhere when the mood grabs you. If you fancy nipping off the road for a picnic just drive there instead of parking and having to walk there, also there is the hope that the winters will be white and then it will come into it's own.

My economy went up by something like 20% when i changed all the oils and the air filter. From 27mpg to 33mpg.
The Jimny will never be an economical car compared to 'normal' cars. It's tall, runs (relatively) big wide tyres and has an extra gearbox sapping a bit more power.

Hello, my jimny 1999 fuel consumption record

lift 2" and 215-75-15 tyres

the reduction in consumption coincides with the removal of the EGR valve

Cheers

I only get 10 km per liter maximum, driving in city traffic. That's about 23.5 miles per gallon?

For highway driving, I get about 13 km per liter or ~ 30.5 miles per gallon.
